"Not what it is cracked up to be."
Many people finding it hard to live anywhere within the Fraser Coast Council boundary (in 2014) because of excessive rate increases on an annual basis, petrol costs 20cents litre more than Brisbane, and there is really nothing to do here - it is God's waiting room. The weather is perfect, and that is the sole reason I live here.

- Quiet suburb in terms of street traffic
- Close to shopping centre and Aldi
- Great weather
- No insect problems at all where we live

- Unfriendliest place I have ever lived

"Sandfly Heaven"
Our family rented in the area, the sandfly at dusk are crazy and the mosquitoes are all the time 24/7. Nowthe area also has aircraft to deal with. You could be forgiven for thinking sometimes was it a mozzie, no, was it a plane!!

Sand flies and planes are more of a problem in the Urangan/Wondunna area of town. Kawungan is nowhere near the airport.
