"Great way to explore the nature"
Apollo bay is the base stattion to Otway national park, tweleve apostles, surfing. Population is around 1500. It is 200 kms south west of Melbourne. This place offers lot of outdoor activities. There are other towns like Colac, Lorne, etc. to visit and explore. Tweleve apostles is around 2 hours journer from here.
Apollo Bay offers lot of festivals and events through out the year. Mountain bike events, Music festival, Surf life-saving championships, Carols by sea, Great ocean road marathon, food and wine festical etc.
There are quite a few walking tracks around. Rainforest walks are really nice. Once can walk along the coast in the beach as well. Otway fly is a good tree top walk in Australia. Otway lighthouse is one of the old of its kind in Australia.
People from Melbourne have bought holiday homes here and rented it through real estate agents. The 3 BR house prices are now aroung half million in this area.
Sea food is always on menu in local cafes. There are few gift/souvenir shops, supermarket, art galleries, on the great ocean road.
