Reviews of Kingsbury, VIC

"A Tranquil Haven with Convenient Amenities and Seamless Connectivity"

"I resided in Kingsbury for several years before relocating to Sydney. The area is surrounded by an abundance of shops, and La Trobe is conveniently situated at the doorstep. Positioned between two train stations, Resa and Macleod, with the added perk of the nearby 86 tram, the accessibility is remarkable. A mere 20-minute tram ride transports you to the vibrant locales of Brunswick and Northcote. I particularly admired the renovations at Resa station. My time living there was truly enjoyable."

"Small Suburb with great Cafes"

Kingsbury is a small suburb located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. It's a quiet residential area with a focus on education due to its proximity to La Trobe University.

Here's a suburb review of Kingsbury, with a specific focus on local cafes:
Kingsbury is situated approximately 16 kilometres north of Melbourne's central business district, making it relatively close to the city while maintaining a suburban atmosphere.
The suburb is home to La Trobe University, which has a significant influence on the local community. The university attracts students from various backgrounds and contributes to the diversity of the area.
Kingsbury primarily consists of residential housing, including single-family homes, apartments, and student accommodation. It's a peaceful and leafy neighbourhood with green spaces and parks.
Kingsbury is well-connected to Melbourne's public transportation network, with bus services running through the area. The nearby suburbs of Reservoir and Bundoora provide access to train services.
The suburb features several parks and reserves, providing opportunities for outdoor activities and relaxation. The nearby Darebin Creek Trail is popular among residents for walking and cycling.

Kingsbury is a relatively small suburb, and while it may not have a bustling cafe scene like some of Melbourne's more central areas, there are a few cafes and eateries in the vicinity, particularly catering to the university community. Here are some local cafes you can find in Kingsbury:

Located on the La Trobe University campus, this cafe is a popular spot for students and staff. It offers a range of coffee, snacks, and light meals in a relaxed setting.

Another cafe located on the La Trobe University campus, The Eagle's Nest provides a variety of coffee, sandwiches, and pastries. It's a convenient place for a quick bite or coffee between classes.
While not directly in Kingsbury but nearby in Reservoir, Nook on High is a cozy cafe with a pleasant atmosphere. It serves quality coffee and a selection of breakfast and lunch options.

You can also find local bakeries and small stores in the area where you can grab pastries, bread, and other baked goods.

If you're a fan of cafes and a relaxed suburban lifestyle, Kingsbury can provide a suitable environment. However, for a broader range of dining and entertainment options, you may want to explore neighbouring suburbs such as Reservoir or Bundoora, which have more extensive dining.

"Up-and-coming suburb!"

Kingsbury is a great little suburb which is becoming a popular destination for young families! Still quite affordable and close to everything, it is hidden between Reservoir and Bundoora with plenty of transport nearby, close to La Trobe University, Polaris Bundoora, Summerhill Shopping Centre, Northland Shopping Centre, Kingsbury Primary School, Our Lady of the Way Catholic Primary School and Maryborough Avenue Kindergarten, and amongst major/popular roads such as Plenty Road, Broadway, High Street and Dunne Street.

"A Student-Friendly Suburb"

With the prestigious La trobe university nearby, the suburb has become a diverse culture hub. Kingsbury is surrounded by greenery and parks perfect for breaks between studies. With a tram to the city and plenty of restaurant around, there is no better location for anyone studying at La trobe.

"Great Suburb"

Kingsbury really is a hidden Gem, being so central to all amenities, Transport services, Universities and all within a short drive of neighbouring suburbs such as Preston, Reservoir, Bundoora & Heidelberg this is still a suburb that is very undervalued. Having sold homes in Kingsbury for the last 10 years it has changed from what was a suburb full of investment properties for Landlords, to a place where young families a seeing a positive future at yet an affordable price.

Great Suburb, close to everything! We have seen house prices start to escalate over the last 4 years also. Having worked in the area for a while now I have seen enormous growth.

"Hidden gem!"

Kingsbury is a hidden gem. It's a tiny suburb which is why usually people are unaware of its existence, but it sits in such an amazing location! Between Reservoir and Bundoora, it's very close to two shopping villages and close to public transport. It's awesomely close to a huge dog park and very close to La Trobe University and schools. Houses are still very old there but slowly there have been new developments which is changing the looks of the place.

Great park lands, quiet streets, good bike tracks (some however need TLC or be upgraded), great place for families and retires. Not so much for shopping, night life or going out.
Perfectly positioned 30 minutes to the CBD, eastern, western and southern suburbs.
Mobile reception is terrible.
