"the gum trees are flowering"
Right now conditions are a little dry and hense the properties look a little neglected. However the flowering gums along the street are pleasant to see each day to and from work. a winding street where early mornings and late evenings see people walking their pets taking advantage of the fresh clean air. Neighbours are watchful without living in your pocket. As a single person have never been concerned for my safety.
