"Great community spirit"

Such a friendly town... close to Melbourne, yet a world away in terms of attitude and pace of life. Why settle for suburbia when you could live here? Beautiful houses, great cafes and restaurants, lots of trees and parks and clean air. A great place to bring up children

Looking for a home in Kyneton?

"All the comforts of the city without the traffic!"

We originally moved to kyneton because we wanted a gorgeous home in a gorgeous street without the price tag of the city.It had to have easy access to the city via highway and vline and it definately had to have some great cafe's and restaurants! Not to mention great coffee.Kyneton and surrounds has some beautifull walking tracks and scenic bike rides. It's definately stress free and the locals are always friendly!

"A relatively quiet and spirited township within an hours drive to central Melbourne."

A relatively quiet and spirited township within an hours drive to central Melbourne. Piper street, the Botanical Gardens, numerous primary schools, two good secondary colleges, a hospital, a to be completed indoor swimming pool and some of the best country restaurants in Victoria are helping Kyneton develop its greatly deserved status as a booming provincial town.

Property prices are extremely affordable, there are very few if any rental properties available and more and more people are making the tree change from Melbourne. Kyneton is being bought up by owner occupiers and investors alike - and who would doubt their rationale for doing so.

"gourmet town with friendly locals and a strong art community"

Kyneton is home to Annie Smithers, Pizza Verde, The Royal Mail Hotel, Star Anise and many other excellent restaurants, all of which make a point of using fresh local and home-grown ingredients and also support local farms. The city is full of friendly people, amazing bluestone architecture, and historical Piper Street has many beauties including the Rectory B&B, the hotel, and the museum.
There are antique shops, John Llloyd's studio and gallery, cafes, and homewares stores.
it's a great weekend away from Melbourne, at only 1hr 10 mins from the city on the Calder.
property prices, for the popularity of the town, are fair and reasonable... almost a bargain in my opinion. I think this is an area to watch!
