Alamosa is the closest at about 2 1/2 hours, but Grand Junction is larger and is about 3 1/4 hours away. The difference is Alamosa is ~10,000 residents vs. ~60,000 for Grand Junction. In other words, Lake City is pretty remote!

That is amazing how remote Lake City really is, awww the dream cabin! When I have been there I came on HW 50 through Gunnison then south of HW 149 that goes through Lake City. Durango is also another community that is "close" to Lake City. I think I am going to visit there again this summer and camp:)
