If you are silly enough to go swimming in rivers then you will be eaten! There are plenty of crocs in the top end but Crocodiles are not found wandering the streets of Darwin! To keep cool there are many safe areas to swim, the local man made wave pool, Leanyer recreation park, Palmerston aquatic centre and various chlorinated swimming pools at the suburbs Parap, Nightcliff, Casuarina is where we take our children.

There are plenty of crocs out in the wild however you are unlikely to encounter any roaming around the streets of Leanyer.

You will find out pretty quickly if there are, in all seriousness you need to be "crosswise" anywhere in the territory
