We’re continually blown away by the variety and downright beauty of homes listed for sale and rent on Homely.

From far flung mountain retreats, brand new seaside builds to sophisticated inner city transformations, there’s something for everyone in our round up of the most liked homes from Homely’s Instagram in 2018.

We figure, who doesn’t love drooling over sensational architecture, divine gardens and Pinterest worthy interiors? Here are the ten most picture-perfect homes that were listed for sale in the past year.

1. Major backyard envy.

This spectacular shot was our most liked home of 2018 on Instagram. It’s not hard to see why, with waterfront views, a lush lawn, BBQ area and a cute garden hideaway this breathtaking yard is every Aussie’s ideal. The Narrabeen home sold in April for $3.7 million after 22 days on the market. Cha-ching!

2. The complete package.

This fabulous Wolveridge Architect designed beach house sold for $3.36 million last February after 49 days listed for sale. Fully furnished by Coastal Living, this home was the epitome of brand new seaside ‘move in ready’ brilliance. We particularly love the recycled timber used in the build, BBQ pavilion and self-cleaning pool.

3.Old-world perfection.

If you’re in the market for a Victorian stunner our third most liked picture-perfect home is still on the market. Like us, our followers were suckers for the traditional lacework and the tessellated tiled verandah. Beautifully presented with lush landscaped gardens high ceilings and marble fireplaces, the pool and double car garage are just the icing on the already super appealing cake.

4. Vaulted va-va-voom.

Vaulted ceilings with exposed beams is one of our favourite interior trends right now. We couldn’t tear our eyes away from this expansive example, where the high pitched open ceiling draws the eye all the way from the living room to the adjacent bedrooms. Another thoughtful addition was the glass walls and roofline allowing loads of light to flood in. This exquisitely appointed Mark Armstrong designed Hunters Hill home sold in February for a cool $3.68 million.

5. Architectural masterpiece.

The pool with the glass feature window drew our followers’ eyes, with this impressive Paddington mansion ‘Woodrock’ raking in the fifth most likes last year. Designed by architect Tim Stewart the commanding residence features five bedrooms, a butler’s pantry, a private terrace and even a wine display case.

6. Hamptons heart-throb.

This timeless Hamptons style home proved picture-perfect, as our sixth most liked abode. Coming in as the most expensive of our 10 most popular homes, the Vaucluse residence sold for a whopping $10.5 million in a private sale after just 15 days on the market. If you flick through the listing gallery you can easily see why it was snapped up so quickly, with every room dressed to the nines with indulgent features and fittings.

7. Exceptional modern extension.

Our followers’ love for all things outdoors and contemporary continued with this Rozelle home ranking seventh in our most popular pics. The freestanding cottage was renovated by Joshua Mulders Architects who added a cutting-edge second storey and the ultimate entertainer’s deck. The home went on to sell in June 2018 for $2.67 million.

8. Indoor-outdoor bliss.

Sold for $2.95 million in February, this sublime indoor-outdoor living area won the hearts of hundreds of our followers on Instagram and Facebook alike. Select highlights include the stone breakfast bar servery off the kitchen, the sprawling deck with built-in BBQ and sparkling pool surrounded by statuesque palm trees. What’s not to love?

9. Glowing country home.

This idyllic Leura home is charming inside and out. With a welcoming front door, windows radiating warmth and fairy lights strung up in the front yard, it’s no wonder this pic was our ninth most liked for 2018. It seems the owners didn’t want to part ways with this mountain beauty either, as it was withdrawn after 69 days on the market.

10. Window wow-factor.

This delightful understated townhouse proves that not only mega-mansions bring in the likes on Instagram. Located in the Distillery Works in Stepney the home has a cool industrial loft feel and sold in May for $510,000. We attribute the popularity of this image to the home’s northerly aspect and attractive double storey window that fills the space with natural light and leafy park views.
