Real life reno: Quirky Collingwood apartment
In collaboration with a Melbourne freelance Interior Designer, Perini Kitchens and Bathrooms recently completed a one of a kind renovation in one of Melbourne’s most stylish suburbs, Collingwood. The colourful finishes selected in the newly renovated bathroom and kitchen of this converted warehouse apartment truly showcase the client’s adventurous personality. Find out how you too can achieve a similarly, quirky, cool yet functional result from your bathroom and kitchen reno below.
Moody bathroom makeover
A seductive and dark colour scheme of deep sapphire, liquorice and copper, this bathroom creates the feeling of relaxing underwater. To further enhance the illusion of a relaxing underwater oasis, all walls have been tiled in a Mediterranean blue tile with a rippled glaze finish, while the ceiling has been painted to match in Dulux ‘Blue Mediterranean’.
The space features all custom designed cabinetry, finished in Lamiex’s ‘Battalion’ colour – from the all drawer wall hung vanity unit to the Euro-Laundry with base and overhead cabinets surrounding the trough, there is ample storage space for all the necessities, making this bathroom both functional and practical.
Quirky kitchen revamp
In carrying on the aquatic theme of the bathroom, the newly renovated kitchen in this eclectic Collingwood apartment is accented with aqua, copper and silver features. A combination of aqua tiles and flamingo themed wallpaper create a focal point in the splashback, while the Tom Dixon ‘Melt’ feature pendants complete the look.
A custom designed and made bookshelf finished in Laminex’s ‘Peacock’, complete with library ladder painted in Dulux’s ‘Metalise’, adorn the mezzanine balcony and cleverly conceals the upstairs bedroom.
The kitchen has been designed to make use of every available space in order to maximise storage and functionality. The Quantum Quartz ‘Ash Grey’ benchtop presents a length of neutral luxurious stone in the colourful space.
