The best Melbourne Christmas light locations 2015
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in streets all around Australia. There’s no doubt that one of every Aussie’s favourite ways to get into the Christmas spirit is to decorate their homes inside and out with Christmas lights, trees and decorations come December each year.
In fact, Melbournians are amongst the most ‘spirited’ in the country with over 40 Christmas light residences featured on homely.com.au’s Australian Christmas Lights Map (see below).
To help you narrow down your search, here are some of our favourite spots for viewing Christmas lights in Melbourne. After the sun goes down, get out your GPS, pack up the kids and head to the following destinations to admire some of this year’s best Christmas light displays.

The five best Christmas light locations in Melbourne:
1. 997 Toorak Road, Camberwell.
This amazing display is ‘lit up like a Christmas tree’ and is one of the best we’ve seen. The light display covers the whole house and yard, features music, inflatables, moving reindeer and a seesaw, a nativity scene and Santa’s workshop. The owners are very welcoming and happy for you to take a closer look at their masterpiece from the front driveway.

2. 43 Jenola Parade, Wantirna South.
This is one of the best interactive Christmas light displays going around. Including dozens of buttons for kids to press to make Xmas figures sing, dance and light up. Owners welcome guests to have a wander around their garden and verandah for the best viewing experience. Santa visits on the two Saturdays before Christmas and on Christmas Eve with pressies and photo opportunities.

3. 105 Fakenham Road, Ashburton.
This eye catching simple but bright display plays Christmas carols to create a magical atmosphere for viewers. The show has moving features, a massive LED adorned Christmas tree, inflatables and a nifty roof display.
105 Fakenham Road, Ashburton, VIC.
4. 10 Joyce Avenue, Glen Waverley.
Check out this beautiful display which features a Christmas countdown sign (in case you need to check!) and an array of Christmas ornaments and flashing lights. The owners are friendly and welcome you to walk around their ‘Christmas Town’ garden and pose for a photo in their Christmas light arch. They’re also running a raffle and have a wishing well to raise money for the charity Loving Autism.
10 Joyce Avenue, Glen Waverley, VIC.
5. The Boulevard, Ivanhoe.
Take a stroll down one of Melbourne’s most picturesque and iconic streets to view an incredible selection of homes, trees and gardens showered in Christmas lights and decorations. Don’t head to the Boulevard too early this month though, as most houses don’t turn on their displays until the 12th of December. You can also expect a lot of traffic congestion from the 12th to the 24th of December, so we recommend parking a few streets away and walking up the Boulevard.

6 Leanna Court, Cranbourne West, VIC.
22 Hoya Crescent, Frankston North, VIC.
118 The Boulevard, Thomastown, VIC.
5/41 Orchard Crescent, Mont Albert North, VIC.
360 Porter Street, Templestowe, VIC.
