The top suburbs best-rated for coffee in Australia

Australia is known for its quality of fresh food and delicious coffee.  It’s no surprise that there are many suburbs across the country that are known for their excellent coffee, even where hot brew isn’t expected. Whether you’re a local looking for a new place to get your caffeine fix, or a tourist searching for the best spots to grab a latte, these are some of the suburbs that are highly rated for their coffee around the country:

1. Melbourne

It’s no secret that Melbourne is home to some of the best coffee in Australia. The city is known for its thriving coffee scene, with a wide variety of cafes and roasters to choose from. 

Some of the suburbs that are particularly well-regarded for their coffee are:

  • Fitzroy: This bohemian suburb is home to a number of excellent coffee shops, including Industry Beans, which has a reputation for serving up some of the best coffee in the city. Slowpoke, Burnside and Blonde also get special mentions. 
  • Collingwood: Located just a short distance from the city centre, Collingwood is another suburb that is known for its great coffee. One of the top spots to check out is Two Birds Café, adored locally for its world class coffee, chic decor and friendly service. 2. Sydney

Despite any Melburnian protesting, Sydney is well-known for its coffee culture, and there are a number of suburbs that are particularly renowned for consistently excellent coffee. Some of the top spots to check out include:

  • Surry Hills: This trendy suburb is home to a number of excellent coffee shops, including The Little Marionette, which is known for its single origin roasts and specialty brews.
  • Bondi Beach: This iconic beachside suburb is home to a number of excellent cafes, including the popular Chapter One Bondi. Beyond the beans, there is a delicious menu at Porch and Parlour

  • West End: This trendy suburb is home to a number of excellent coffee shops, including The Single Guys, which is known for its specialty brews and espresso drinks.

4. Perth
