"Safe but a bit unwelcoming"
Pros Low crime and if is a very safe neighbourhood the retirees are always keeping a good eye out for any trouble. Great coffee at the local cafes and an easy drive to Hobart CBD. Good neighbourhood watch from retirees. The local school is of high quality education. But unfortunately unless things change and we feel more welcomed, we'll move. Prove me wrong Lindisfarne locals. As the old saying goes, "Smile and the whole world smiles with you".😉 I'll wait and see.

"Not for me"
Streets are pokey, not a suburb i really enjoyed living in. Driving the bridge each day in peak hour really takes it toll.

"Great place to live!"
We've been in Lindisfarne for 2 years. It's a very peaceful place with decent amenities in the village - restaurants, cafes, pharmacies, doctors, supermarket, bakeries, butcher, dentist, bookshop, newsagent, bottleshops, petrol station. It's also a 5 minute trip over to Eastlands in Rosny Park if you want a big shopping mall experience. It's only a 6 minute drive into the CBD. There are nice places to walk. It's a very peaceful place with friendly neighbours. You can walk around at night without getting mugged. I haven't seen any rough crowds or domestic disturbances. It's an excellent place to raise a family if you can afford to buy in.

"Lindisfarne Village"
It's a big area geographically, but concentrated around its heart between the shopping area in Lincoln Street and the Motor Yacht Club of Tasmania a few hundred meters away. Lindisfarne is about comfortable lifestyle, the Derwent River and water activities. Most people know each other, or know the face. A real feeling of community, and less oxygen thieves than one finds in similarly priced real estate markets. No real "night life" as city people would know it, but the flesh pots of Hobart are only 5-7 minutes over the Tasman Bridge anyway. A few restaurants and licensed venues, plenty of parks and bush land experience, but mainly "the river". If your a yachty, canoeist, or just like messing about in boats, this is the best suburb in Tassie. A sandy beach would make this place perfect, but its too far upriver, alas!
Doctors, Dentists, Chemists and a few specialist shops, with major retail chains a few minutes away at Rosny Park.
