Reviews of Lord Howe Avenue, Hillcrest
"Nice street bordering Oakden and Hillcrest with a good mix of houses"
I considered buying a house on Lord Howe, but the house itself was too small for us at the time. We bought a block just around the corner. Lord Howe is a nice street, with a good blend of houses.
It has good access to public transport to the city and Northgate shops are well within walking distance. At one end of Lord Howe it is close to the new Lightsview area, and just around the corner from Regent Gardens reserve.
Other shops close by include Windsor Gardens which includes a good sized Hardware store, Ingle farm, Golden grove, Tea Tree Plaza and Greenacres. If you need anything, good chance its within walking distance or a very short drive.
Regent Gardens reserve is the ultimate local park. Wide open spaces for you kids or dog, two playgrounds, two full size tennis courts, a full size basketball court, a good sized rotunda and an undercover entertaining area with public toilets. The park is full of people on the weekends taking advantage of one of the best resources Oakden has to offer.
At the other end of Lord Howe there is another park or open area, and the Oakden wetlands are within walking distance.
Lord Howe is a relatively quiet street but it does take a bit more traffic than most streets on Oakden as is is a through road. had the house been bigger I think we would have bought on this street. Find the right house and its a great place to live.
