Reviews of Lucas Road, Burwood
"Great inner city living"
I lived on Lucas Road in Burwood for almost a year. The street is always clean but I was located towards the Parramatta Road end and hence the house got very dusty very often. However, the benefits of living in Burwood far outweighs the cons.
Burwood is an easy twenty minutes drive to the city via Parramatta Road or a fifteen minutes train ride to Central Station. However, it used to take me a good twenty minutes to walk to the train station from my end of Lucas Road. That was good exercise but was not very welcomed on cold winter nights.
Burwood is generally a very safe and convenient suburb to live in. The streets are kept clean and Westfield Burwood is just a very convenient location for all your shopping needs. Apart from Westfield Burwood, there is also Burwood Road. This road is jam packed with banks, restaurants, cafes, boutiques, computer shops, music shop, pubs and sporting shops. When there are shops, there tend to be traffic. It is always a good idea to avoid going into Burwood via Burwood Road on Saturdays and Thursday nights.
There are plenty of good schools around this area. This makes it a very popular place to live for many families with young children. Burwood boasts both high rise residential units and plenty of beautiful houses. Many of these houses are heritage listed and real estate prices here tend to be on the more expensive end.
I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to live in a suburb that is convenient and close to the city.
