Mossies, snakes, floods?
Hey all im seriously thinking of buying a block of land and go off the grid. Is it possible to grow your own vegetables patch? Are there pests around like mossies, snakes or theyre only few of them?
Lastly what about flooding? How often does this happened.?
Ohh can you build whatever house you like without council permission? Im thinking of a small cabin/ cottage.

Great place to build your dream cottage off grid. Great soil and plenty of water for the garden. Mossies come out in the summer months (Nov - March) and disappear in winter. You learn to live around them, but as more construction goes on, they will be less and less. Similar to hope island was many years ago. Odd snake dont see many of them. Never any flooding because all the water goes out to sea straight away.
