There's a lot of snobs and backstabbing going on in Magill. I lived there for many years and I'm very thankful to be out of the area now. I'd say 80-90% would be genuine and friendly, the other 10-20% would be two faced, come across as friendly, but have an agenda for being a friend with you. The neighbours I had were hypocrites, trying to put across that they were decent church going types, and yet they were thieves, forgers, intrusive types. I knew these neighbours that live on Park Terrace and Lorne Avenue for over 30 years. What they did was reprehensible. Just be wary and don't be too trusting with them.

So If I live here, would I want to move out STRAIGHt away cause' of the neighbours?

North, I entrusted emergency keys with both of my neighbours after my last parent died, and one neighbour took advantage of that. She and her adult son apparently were in and out of my premise when I was out somewhere else (shopping etc) nosing around, stealing expensive items and even going through my drawers in my bedroom. It creeps me out when I think about it. It was all witnessed by the other neighbours who didn't bother to tell me until I had come back on a visit after I left the area because they didn't want me to react at the time. Yes they did me a favour because I probably would have killed her! North, all I am saying is be wary. Don't go overboard being friendly. It doesn't pay. In terms of the area itself, it is quiet and peaceful the majority of the time, but I've been burnt by the neighbours so I am letting people know.

Thats very good information there, cre8focus. I don't live in Magill. I just want to know if it is good or not, and you gave me the correct answer. Thank you very much for that. :)

North, happy to oblige, just sorry it's that way!

Is the area popular with uni types ie professors and/or students? I live in Tasmania and my area has a high proportion of university lecturers and students whom I have found to be overly "friendly", but totally two-faced and dishonest.
