Reviews of Maleny, QLD

"HEAVEN ON A MOUNTAIN"

Perfect for relaxing holiday or to live Maleny is a unique quaint slice of paradise, the untimely village friendly spirit with querky traditions of local crafts, delicious fresh foods either eaten in the cafes, restaurants or bought. Artisans, Healers, Poets, Authors and other class of people blend in so well.
The luscious green fields of green and gold with amazing wildlife mingled with friendly domestic animals. The pure air, fresh water creeks, rainforest walks and the forever coloured changing skies and milkyways are a glory to the eyes. All amenities are in the village centre.
Maleny is such a beautiful safe healthy place to live and is only 30 mins from local beaches and appx 75 mins to CBD heart of Brisbane.
This is a place i call home and is very special in my heart.😘

Looking for a home in Maleny?

"'A great place to raise a family '"

I can only comment from the position as a visitor to the area as we recently traveled up the mountain to visit the Montville & Maleny area with a view of relocating from Perth. The place was so beautiful & views stunning even the schools were lovely & small which I expect is a good thing. The overall impression was of a place to retire to, but I would be interested to hear of opinions on how it caters for families. Is there enough facilities & things for young people to do up on the mountain? With the increasing problems of traffic in the cities the pace in Maleny is a wonderful change that we look forward to making.

"Maleny - Village feel, ideal place to buy."

Situated in the Blackall Range, Maleny is in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and offers some wonderful scenery with views over lush green pastures to the coast. There are some good walks around the area or you can visit the many galleries and craft shops in the town and surrounding areas. Get close to nature and stay at Maleny Country Cottages offering great accommodation. Maleny has all the facilities close at hand yet give off a real friendly village feel. For those looking to nest in Maleny homes prices can be a little on the steep side due to the wonderful location and views.

"Cows and Grass and Tourists"

The heading of the column may suggest that I'm not a fan of cows and grass or even tourists and therefore I am not a fan of Maleny. But that couldn't be further from the truth. I love it up there. The crisp cool air is always a heavenly reprise from the QLD heat and organic cafes, restaurants and farm gate producers keep the good vibes flowing. Macadamia nuts are one of my favourite local triumphs and you can generally buy them in bags from honesty boxes on the side of the road. In winter streaky wisps of smoke escape from chimneys and the hotels and bed and breakfasts here take good care of the tourists. The rolling green fields and far off views of the Sunshine Coast are incredibly romantic and the nearby Lake Baroon offers sailing and kayaking opportunities.

"A lovely hinterland town away from the rush and bustle of the city."

Maleny is a rather quaint hinterland township. It took a long while for Maleny to wake up but it has and slowly but surely is developing into a town with its own character.

This town suits someone looking for the more laid back lifestyle, who is more interested in their quality of life than the quality of their assets. A lot of arts and crafts people live here. There is some exceptional talent tucked away in these hills. People who have international fame in their field of choice.

There seems to be a bed and breakfast at almost every turn and these are often spread out over an acre or two. They are frequented by those living the busy city life in Brisbane. If you are looking for a romantic weekend then this is the place to go.

Real estate in this area has crept up quite significantly and there have been some quite exceptional prices paid for properties. Many properties have fantastic views out over the whole of the Sunshine Coast. There are still some well priced properties to be had as well.
