Cherry blossoms in NY

Who knew there were so many cherry trees in the city. Walking around last night, I noticed they have all bloomed all of a sudden. Like, within a day of each other. I was around 14th Street on the west side, and it was a cherry blossom wonderland...

I'll take allergy season over the winter freeze any day! But I think New York is especially beautiful in the spring months.

That's so gorgeous, @uraniumfish! I love cherry trees - as well as dogswood - will have to be sure to check them out. Riverside Drive/Park in the 90's is also a great place to go to see lots of flowering trees!

Me too, I am walking around like a tourist and taking pictures of the flowering trees to remember them.:( Has Spring always been like this for some weird reason I cant remember seeing all these flowering trees. Surely the city couldn't have transplanted them from elsewhere just for the season?

Oh, maybe that is why I am sneezing a lot these days. Allergy season is here with Cherry Blossoms having sprung. :)

My neighbors have a GORGEOUS flowering tree in their backyard, though I have no idea what kind it actually is. Also, my landlord planted a cherry tree in our backyard, which is just beginning to bloom. I can't describe how amazing it smells out there.

@Never Sleeps lovely, lovely...

Along with the blossoms I also enjoy the chirping of the birds who seem as excited as us about the weather..

I feel like we deserve this loveliness, after that brutal winter.For some reason it felt way more unbearable than winters usually feel.

I agree, uraniumfish. But, sadly, isn't it supposed to get kind of cold again this weekend? I would really be ok with it staying like this for a while. I had a picnic in Central Park, yesterday, and it was just incredible.

@JenMac Doesn't look like it's going to be as cold as originally predicted - we're getting weather in the 60s instead of in the 50s. Whoo!

@Everyone this evening I drove past Park Avenue and the Cherry blossom trees located in the middle of the avenue are in full bloom and present a gorgeous sight!
