I know. I read the announcement on CNN. The Senate said they will not repeal the law as we need it. As for meningitis, that is all we need, like this city has enough health problems already.

The most common causes of meningitis are viral infections that usually get better without treatment. However, bacterial meningitis infections are extremely serious, and may result in death or brain damage even if treated.

The scariest is that early symptoms of meningitis look like the flu, so you might not immediately realize your life is in danger.

I don't agree with the flu shot idea. I don't understand the reasoning behind injecting yourself with something bad when a completely different strain of the flu might get you. And, it seems like it doesn't help your immune system much when the way that you fight big things is by building up your system on not so big things.

@Everybody: Every time I go to Duane Reade, they ask me if I want my flu shot. They charge $30 for a dang gone flu shot. I keep telling them no. I can't go out much right now because of my recovery, so I am not getting around people who are sick. Besides, the flu shot concerns be, considering all the bad news around it.
