New York City in the 70's
Here's a photo gallery of New York City in the 70's created by photographer Paul McDonough who always wandered around the city with a camera in tow.

Have always been told that NYC in the 70's was a real grotty place but these pictures paint a different picture don't you think?

Everything really does look better in black and white.

I just looked all the pictures. Very interesting. I took note of the clothing and hair styles. The clothing is not too much different than today, but the hair styles were.

I love pictures like this! It's so interesting to see what people walked a certain street every day before you did.

Indeed, @uraniumfish! I always envision NYC in black and white, somehow. Kind of like that Woody Allen film, Manhattan!

In black and white you don't see the grime.

@Everybosy: What appeals to me is the way people looked and the way the streets looked. Compare the streets to today. You may find quite a difference.
