How normal is it to see snakes and dangerous spiders in the areas near Trinity Bay High School?

My Kids do swimming squad training at Trinity Bay Pool (known as T'Bay) and we have never spotted any snakes or spiders. It is in a very established area close to the Cairns CBD. Leah:-)
