Reviews of Mapleton, QLD

"A beautiful place to live, witha very friendly village atmosphere"

I moved here from Sydney over a year ago and have met lots of the very friendly and welcoming locals. Plenty of choices for eating out, plus a local IGA and BP for fuel/groceries, and lots of choices for bushwalks. The closeness to tourist spots of Montville and Maleny and national parks make this a real hidden gem of the hinterland. The views to the Sunshine Coast are amazing, and it's a safe, quiet and green place to live. Birdlife is prolific, and plants grow easily whether you are green-thumbed or not!

Great for

  • Close to Montville and Maleny shopping and restaurants
  • 12 minutes to Nambour Hospital and services
  • 30 minutes to Maroochydore

"Affordable Part of the Sought After Blackall Range covering Maleny, Montville, Flaxton & Mapleton"

Beautiful hamlet nestled on 12 minutes away from Nambour with its shops, transport hub and major hospital, but at over 400 metres above sea level you feel a world away. Cool air, beautiful bird life and stunning views to the coast are the first thing that you experience driving up the range.
Locals and Tourists alike crowd the Mapleton Pub with its expansive decks looking over Mount Coolum and Mount Ninderry.

There is a small town centre with an ecclectic mix of eateries and services - the pizza shop has a great reputation. Just behind the shops is the beautiful Lilliponds. It has been recently deepened and beautified and is now a wonderful place to picnic - there are slides , swings and a skate park for the kids.

Of course Mapleton is most famous for its natural beauty and the Mapleton Falls offers a spectacular view out to Kenilworth over this impressive water fall. The Blackall Range Great Walk travels through Mapleton for the keen hikers.

Overall a great place to live for every generation - the demographic seems to be moving slightly towards young couples and families although the older generation is still holding a lot property in the area.
