Working in Maroochydore.

Is there much work in the Maroochydore area for my 16year old son to get an apprenticeship as a carpenter ? Every body from my area always says there is not enough work in this area......it's a difficult age to move states let alone move and have no opportunities.....hopefully someone that lives in this area could shed some light. Thanks in advance, Janelle

Hi Janelle, Absolutely- moving interstate is really hard! However, Maroochydore has been earmarked as a major growth area in QLD. Part of the driver behind this growth is the new CBD currently under construction in Maroochydore. This revamp has seen a huge increase in employment opportunities on the Sunshine Coast. Further to this, the Kawana Medical Precinct is also under way and is located only a 15-20minute drive from Maroochydore. All of this development has meant further job opportunities for tradies, particularly carpenters. Now is a great time to be moving to the Coast!
