What's it like to live in Medowie with a young family?

Medowie, NSW 2318 is located within the Port Stephens local government area, part of the Hunter Region in New South Wales.

Hi, we are a young family looking at making the move from Sydney to medowie we have always loved the port stephens area so thought medowie would be perfect as it is not to far from newcastle where we will be looking for work. I have tried to research medowie and can't find much about it at all so please if you have the time let us know your experience of living there. Is it a good place to bring kids up, is there much crime, what are the schools like etc? Please if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

IT's a great place for a young family. I moved here at 33 weeks pregnant and got a lot of friends from the parenting class we did and made a mothers group. We went away to sydney for a few years but were glad to come back as my son can ride a bike around here and have a bit more freedom and independance.
