Sawmill Settlement is fantastic for people who love the outdoors. In the winter you have Mount Buller (only 2 mins to the tollgate) and in the summer there is dirt biking, mountain biking and road biking, fishing in the Delatite river which is just across the road, bushwalking, boating in Lake Eildon which is only 25 mins away and there are also some local wineries to enjoy. Mansfield is only 20 mins away and there is always something going on there! There are 4 pubs/restraunts within 7 mins without having to go into Mansfield and a couple of these also provide takeaway meals. We have been enjoying Sawmill now for 6 years and love the safety of the area. Our kids can get outside and explore the area without worry while the adults can enjoy a wine or a beer on the deck. There is always art and craft festivals happening in the area and you can also catch a movie in Mansfield before heading back out to Sawmill to enjoy the peace and quiet at night.
