Rent is comparative to house prices which are much lower than places like Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Having said that the house prices in Toowoomba City are starting to rise, so rents will creap up along with that house value. If you are willing to drive 20 minuets into the city, places like Highfields and Drayton offer new 4 bed 2 bath homes for mid $400,000s, but rentals are in short supply. Many homes in these outer suburbs are on large blocks ( 1/2 acre plus). They have shopping centres and good local schools and these suburbs are themselves growing rapidly
