Mount Molloy, QLD 4871

Mount Molloy is a one-of-a-kind small country town and a great place to live. A small community, rich with history and full of surprises I've grown to love this little place. With 2 major towns only half and hour away either direction, Mount Molloy gives you the opportunity to live in a small town and access Mareeba, Mossman and Port Douglas in only a short pleasant country drive. I love the viewof thebig mountains, wide open spaces and really love the weather with year round cool and drier breezes that offers a nice change to the coastal humidity. I've never seen such amazing bird life....when people ring and talk to me on the phone they think they've reached heaven. Our little town has a servicable general shop and petrol, an RACQ garage, a post office,rural fire service, police station, 2 churches, primary school, B & B accomodation, large ovals and tennis courts, a creek, a free camping area near the creek, a few parks and lots of nice bush tracks. The community is proud of their historic pub which serves great meals every day and live music on Friday nights, the mexican take-away is famous for it's biggest best burgers in the world and the local community hall is always alive with an activity of some description, and then there's the markets on Saturdays under the big trees. Everyone knows eachother and always invites you to get involved in community activities. Mount Molloy is also a meeting place for nearby farmers or a stop off point for tourist travelling from Cooktown or the cape. I highly recommend living here for old and young alike!
