Mount Pleasant is pretty, tranquil and quite safe with a solid school system and a general sense of neighborliness and community. It is surrounded by fascinationg villages and hamlets, all within relatively short driving distance. In Pleasantville, there is the phenomenal Jacob Burns Film Center and Media Lab which shows top-notch artistic flicks and often holds lively talk-backs and Q & A sessions afterwards. There is a large multiplex located in Hawthorne, the Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford, The Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, multiple historical sites to visit in both Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, and for continued peace of mind, an outstanding medical center in Valhalla.
