Where is the nearest bookstore to Thornwood? Indie or chain.

The nearest bookstore is the absolutely fabulous little indie one, Village Bookstore, in Pleasantville, about 1.1 miles from Thornwood proper. They have always been super nice and helpful in there. They wholly promote indie bookstores, local authors and local commerce which I personally appreciate a great deal. Of course, that all being said, they don't have the vast selection of a chain and when I need something I can't find there, I head to the Barnes and Noble in White Plains located at the City Center. It would be the next nearest bookstore, anyway. And they have a nice cafe.

The Village Bookstore in Pleasantville is an independently owned and operated bookseller. They offer their own reviews and are very helpful. One of the few remaining bookstores in the area and a Pleasantville treasure.
