Juice Joint

So, I must have wandered around Soho and the West Village today for eons looking for a place that could make a good vegetable juice for me (carrots, beets, parsley, kale and ginger). No one does this around here! I finally walked over to Juice Generation on w4th. I love that place . . but it was 7 dollars for a juice which I think is kind of insane. Does anyone know of a place in that area that I don't? I was kind of dumbfounded.

How about the Elixir Juice Bar

West Village
523 Hudson St
(between 10th St & Charles St)
New York, NY 10014.

Apparently it's pricey-ish, but really good!

I was looking for a place myself that offers such juices at low cost. I think $7 a drink is very high. But considering this is a famous city, prices will be high.

HHusted: I can get a juice for 5 bucks in mid town. I was asking about Soho -not the price.

Try:

Simple Juice Bar, 203 Mott Street

Haven't been lately but they should still be around. On second thought, they're probably of the $7-for-a-juice ilk. Mmmhh, why is this one so tough to answer?

I know, right? It's kinda crazy that there isn't anything in that area. I mean there's an entire rice pudding joint, but no juice?!

I can't believe there aren't more places that sell juice drinks. Aren't New Yorkers becoming more health-conscious or have I been dreaming that. Not being sarcastic, I just want to know what is happening in NYC, regarding eating and drinking healthy.

The Downtown Natural Market at 51 Willoughby Street in downtown Brooklyn has an amazing juice bar in the back. I know it's a far hike from SoHo, but a real gem.

@DBlack: I guess the next time I am in Brooklyn, I'll look up the Downtown Natural Market. Thanks for the tip.

Isn't there a little juicing joint right on Prince Street, in one of those street vendor's booths? Am I making that up? I'm not exactly inspired to go out now and check.

Do you guys have a favorite kind of juice or juice drink? I'm not a huge fan of vegetable juices, but I absolutely love fresh orange or apple juice.

I've recently gotten obsessed with carrot, beet, ginger and kale..little bit of lemon. It's hard to just find that's why finding super juice places is hot on my list!

Ohhhh! There is an awesome little French cafe in Bushwick/Bed Stuy (likely far out of everyone's way) that has really delicious and really fresh fruit juices, which are actually seasonal. Right now he has orange and grapefruit, and strawberry in the summer - just another reason to be excited for summer!
