Whole Foods Dining

I know there are so many great restaurants in the city but how cool is the dining part of the the East Village Whole Foods. It has really good food and such a great view. Who knew?

You mean the one on Houston? I get my lunch there all the time. I'd even put it on a beautiful views list, if I had to.

I haven't been to East Village Whole Foods yet. But I will get there one day soon, especially when the weather breaks.

Uraniumfish: Yes! It's got such a great view. And, apparently, it's quite the place to go to meet someone if ya know what I mean.

@JenMac Oh yeah? I hadn't thought of that, and generally enjoyed it on days when I wanted to have some time to myself. But those big tables are definitely conducive to socializing.

For some reason I still haven't been to the one on Houston. I think it's because I'm mad they didn't finish building it before I was priced out of the neighborhood. I've been stubbornly going to the one in Union Square instead.

@BroadwayBK , I have walked by the East Village Whole Foods many times but have never stopped to go in though have had a chat over coffee and a rock hard biscotti at the Union Square Whole Foods cafe.

So I see no one has had experience with East Village Whole Foods. I am not sure when I will get down there. I am not one to lug a bunch of groceries back on a bus or train. That is simply not what I wish to do.

Maybe, if they have an option to order online, I'll do it that way. Have to look into it.

@BroadwayBK Ah, you're missing out! The one at Union Square feels so cramped by comparison. Being used to my lunchtime pleasure of sitting at Whole Foods, I once tried to eat at the Whole Foods at Union Square and hated it. Just not the same if you can't look out at the NYC streets below.

I love the Time Warner one - especially taking whole foods takeout food into the Park for a picnic!

Oh, sounds great, JenMac. If it is that cool, I will definitely have to check it out sometime when it gets warmer.

I usually just get some groceries and run whenever I stop in to a Whole Foods. Are the dining areas as crowded as the rest of the store?

Neversleeps: I think it depends on when you go. I've been there a few times and it's never been that bad. But, I think maybe I went on off-peak hours.

@Uraniumfish Okay, okay, I'll go! I actually just always forget that it's there, until I happen to go by it, usually in a cab on the way home. And it's easy for me to get there - just a short ride on the J - so who really knows what's taking me so long.
