There is such a range in that area, so it's hard to take a good "average," but a 2-bedroom is probably going to cost you at least $3500. I haven't seen many apartments advertised in North Beach because people like to hold onto them.

A good site for finding apartments is padmapper.com--they are a rental site aggregator, so they give you a run down of all the other sites and they have s super cool mapping function that lets you see them displayed. I know the MIT guy who programmed it. Anyway it has lots of apartments listed.

J Cristinal is totally right, the prices vary with a 2-bedroom typically going for around $3500. Though some are a fair bit higher. (I also say a couple of studios for under a $1000 but they may actually be in Chinatown. I couldn't quite tell.) Hope that helps.
