Land size throughout Ormond varies quite significantly. For instance, the boundary closest to Carnegie typically has blocks around 550 - 600sqm. If you cross over Grange Road and get closer to Ormond Station blocks can be in excess of 1000sqm (but are also situated in a high density development overlay). South of North Road (in the McKinnon School Zone) blocks tend to vary between 600 - 700sqm. Throughout Glen Eira Council there are various overlays and zones you should know about before moving into the area. High Density Overlay allows for multilevel apartment buildings to be constructed within a certain distance from major arterial and train stations. Heritage Overlays in some parts of Ormond prevent significant renovations or demolitions. Homes in The McKinnon High School Zone (http://new.mckinnonsc.vic.edu.au/?page_id=221) typically attract a significantly higher price tag.
