Lifestyle is undoubtedly one of Palm Beach’s biggest drawcards.

You have the beach on your doorstep, Currumbin Creek to the south and Tallebudgera Creek and Burleigh Heads just minutes to the north. Add a thriving café and restaurant scene, local shops, gyms, schools and sporting facilities, and there isn’t much you need to leave the area for.

Gold Coast Airport is around 10–15 minutes away, the M1 is easily accessible and the Gold Coast Highway provides direct connections throughout the southern Gold Coast.

Each part of Palm Beach also offers something different:

Beachside & Jefferson Lane – premium positioning, walkability and immediate beach access.

Central Palm Beach – close to cafés, restaurants, shops and schools.

Southern Palm Beach – popular for access to both the beach and Currumbin Creek.

Western pockets – generally more residential while remaining only minutes from the coastline.

PROPERTY IN PALM BEACH

Palm Beach has changed significantly over the past decade. Original beach cottages and older brick units now sit alongside architecturally designed homes, duplexes, townhouses and premium apartment developments.

That diversity provides different entry points into the suburb, from older apartments through to multimillion-dollar beachfront residences.

Detached homes remain particularly sought after due to the scarcity of coastal land, while older boutique apartment blocks can appeal to buyers wanting larger floorplans and lower-density living.

Newer apartments offer modern finishes and amenities, although buyers should always consider body corporate costs, position and future development when comparing options.

WHAT BUYERS SHOULD CONSIDER

Palm Beach’s popularity does come with a few trade-offs. Traffic along the Gold Coast Highway can be busy during peak periods, beachside parking becomes competitive on weekends and development continues to reshape parts of the suburb.

Buyers should also investigate flood overlays, aircraft noise in some locations, zoning, body corporate costs and potential future development.

These aren't necessarily negatives – they're simply part of understanding exactly where and what you're buying.

INVESTING IN PALM BEACH

Palm Beach continues to attract investors because of its strong tenant demand, limited coastal land and broad appeal to owner-occupiers.

Location and property selection are particularly important. An older boutique apartment may offer a very different investment proposition to a new high-rise apartment, while houses provide exposure to increasingly scarce land but require a significantly higher entry point.

Rather than looking at rental yield or suburb-wide growth figures in isolation, I recommend considering the complete picture: land component, holding costs, rental demand, future supply, redevelopment potential and eventual resale appeal.

THE PALM BEACH LIFESTYLE

What makes Palm Beach special is that despite its growth, it still feels like a community.

Morning coffee, a walk along the beach, an afternoon at Currumbin Creek and dinner at a local restaurant can all happen within a few kilometres of home.

Families are well catered for with local schools, childcare, parks and sporting facilities, while professionals and downsizers are attracted by the walkability and convenience.

It’s active, social and unmistakably coastal.

It is far away enough to enjoy a relaxed lifestyle but close enough to have access to the hub areas of the Gold Coast.

It is very great for people with pets as it has an amazing dog beach, it is LGBTQ friendly, beautiful tallebudgera creek to swim in and a friendly community.

Palm Beach would have to be one of the secret Gems of the Gold Coast! It is moving up the ranks in terms of location & design. This is the perfect suburb to pick up a renovator and make some serious profit - or settle down with the family. The trending cafe's and bars are popping up by the dozen, and not to mention the pristine beaches at your front door.

Laguna Lake, Palm Beach, Queensland - friendly community, caring residents, laid back style, green and clean surroundings, great little cafes, choice of schools, supermarkets, shopping complexes, hospitals and health support, good schools and universities within reach with easy access to domestic and international airport, train, bus and major transport routes.
We lived there and commuted to Sydney and elsewhere to work for years.
There's the choice of nearby surf beach, lagoon or estuary for swimming and water sports within walking distance.
I often walk in the dog-friendly park at Laguna Lake and many families bring their children to play and picnic there.
From our experience look for properties built to or above modern standards of energy efficiency, water-proofing and classic interior finishing as these will retain their value.

Moved to the southern pocket of Palm Beach near Currumbin Creek a year ago from inner Brisbane and absolutely love it. My wife takes our young daughter to the beach almost daily and we get full use from the beach, creek and lovely parks on weekends. Shops, parks, coffee shops, schools, ect, everything we (a young family) need are so close.

Yes I should not tell the world or they will all want a piece of Palm Beach. Great community, great neighbours where everyone looks out for everyone. After living here for nearly eight years I finally could afford a mortgage. I have moved around the Palm beach area in three different houses and each and every street I have lived in the longer term residents and there are plenty of them are warm friendly and inviting. I have lived from Tassie to Townsville and west of that as well and I have never felt more at home or welcome than I do here at Palm Beach. It is true it is not without problems but no town is. The truth is it really is the Gold Coasts best place to live. Not too many tourists, and I would never knock the tourists as they add millions to the economy but if you are looking for somewhere quiet but want to be on the Gold Coast, outside the hinterland you probably could not do much better.
