They generally dont care but dont expect any invitations to a BBQ from an Aussie anytime soon. They are superficially very friendly people but they dont want to be your friend, their contact is usually limited to a chat over the fence or a wave as you or they drive by. We have been in WA for over 3 years now, lived in two cities and the attitude is the same and is echoed by other Saffers that I have spoken to.

Aussies have absolutly no interest in you or where you come from and we have never been asked about ourselves or South Africa so dont waste your time telling "when we" stories, they really dont care. I am sure there are exceptions to our findings but so far we havent come across any.
