Husband & wife moving to Perth next week. Where to live?

Neither of us drive, so close to a train. Play hurling. Love the beach. Don't want to pay too much in rent so don't mind paying transport, would really like a house

Hi CiCiNoelle, If you'd like to look at a Perth Map that shows the trainlines you'll be able to see where the main links are. Of course, the buses run in between as well, but for long distances the train is good and quicker. Without any car at all, I guess it would be good to be near shops accessible by bus and train so Rockingham or Joondalup at opposite ends of Perth would be good for beach access by bus. But, if you want to be closer to the beach, then it would be a good idea to find the right rental equation and then check that a bus stop is nearby. That way you can get to the main shopping and the beach, and also be able to get to the train station for travel elsewhere. The cheaper areas on the coast would be far from Perth CBD - Clarkson, Merriwa etc... or down Rockingham way. Overall cheapest with train would be far inland like Armadale or Midland areas, which may not be the first preference. I don't know much about where you can play hurling - perhaps a google search for clubs in WA? I would consider Clarkson as the shops are quite good, and there is a train station - although not the main hub.
