Reviews of Picton, NSW

9th June 2022

"Picton is about 80 kilometres south west of Sydney. At about the geographical centre of the Wollondilly region, it is also the main town and administrative centre of the region."

For an overnight stay there are excellent B&B’s and hotels and motels. A first class golf course nearby, club hotels, and woolshed for dining, singing and dancing. The George IV Inn is one of the oldest in Australia and deserves a visit for its own unique little brewery; bistro and entertainment on weekends.

Looking for a home in Picton?

"A little Piece Of Heaven"

Picton is a great area for people looking to escape the claustrophobia of Sydney. There are plenty of homes on the market at any given time and the country feel of the town is a major attraction. Surrounded by hills and farms, Picton truly is a wonderful place to raise a family or enjoy retirement.

Rentals in Picton

"Picton - Village atmosphere with intersting passtimes."

Picton is about a one hour drive south west of Sydney and offers a village lifestyle. Surrounded by many farms and villages Picton has much to offer the person who loves nature and the outdoors. Thirlmere Lakes National park is a wonderful place to visit and is heritage listed. There are lakes and bush land with walking trails. There are lakeside picnic areas with BBQ’s. Swimming and canoeing are permitted but not power boats are allowed. Have a drink in the George IV Inn which has its own brewery and is one of the oldest in the country. Another fun thing to do is to take a guided night ghost tour, these are popular in this area. There is accommodation and places to eat as well as local arts, crafts and produce.

"Nice little town"

Picton is a nice little town on the south western edges of Sydney. I drive past it a lot whenever I head down to Wollongong or the South Coast since I take the Campbelltown way to head down. I love stopping by the pubs and cafes in town and grabbing a pie as the town is really quaint and welcoming. There are a lot of signs in the area about the sky diving trips available and you always see a few young Sydney siders in town all excited about sky diving or returning from their sky diving adventures with smiles on their faces. Often, the sight of this makes me want to go sky diving, but I am pretty happy just eating my meat pie or having a beer in this beautiful town.
