What is the "Sustainability Declaration"

If you have looked at buying or selling property recently then you would have heard this mentioned, but what is it?

1. New legislation introduced in Queensland on January 1 2010 requires, by law, all residential dwellings to have a sustainability declaration before they can be marketed. This statutory document must be completed by the seller, or the seller can appoint a third party to complete the form (other than an Agent).

The document informs potential buyers of the property's energy and water sustainability features such as insulated roof/walls, rainwater tank, ceiling fans etc.
