Redbank plains home buying. Robert jones street

I live in Mt. isa and would like to buy my first home in Brisbane. Since redbank plain has cheaper home options I wanted to know more about the place. I have a five year old son. Can someone please tell me about safety issues in this suburb and whether it is flood prone or has black soil issues? I hardly have anyone in Brisbane who could guide me on property related issues and hence thought of asking all of you. I am looking at Robert jones street specifically.
