Hi Rebecca,

Most of Richmond is great to live in. There's some streets of beautifully restored period cottages. shopping strips and excellent restaurants. There is a set of commission flats on Elizabeth St towards Hoddle Street, but Richmond is a big suburb!

Someone who lives in the area may be able to offer better advice on some great streets to live in?

Salisbury Street, where the servo is on the corner with Church St is pretty dodgy. Lots of syringes and needles and you often see users in the act. Also they stash their equipment and supplies around the place, behind air conditioners and other nooks and crannies at nearby business premises. Not a great look.

I walked round the houso areas in Richmond in the late 80s once as a 15 y/o kid, at dusk - never had any problem. In fact, the people were pretty nice. Not to say there aren't problems, but I wouldn't go looking for trouble.
