Hi everyone! Rosebery, Zeehan, Queenstown

Hello, myself & my family are in the process of moving to Tasmania on the West Coast. We have been looking at the 3 towns listed above, & would love to know how easy/hard it is to get a job in the mines; my partner being a general all rounder in the mine & myself as a cleaner/cleaning supervisor.
We would also love to hear anything about the local schools-,we are looking at a combined one preferably.
We would appreciate anyones input For new comers :)
Thank you kindly, we cant wait to be there! :)

Hi,
The mines are always looking to hire and in general prefer to hire local residents if they can. Queenstown has both a catholic primary school which is fantastic (kids went there) and a high school that is starting to establish itself as a quality school.
Outside of the mines there are huge opportunities to start a business on the West Coast due to the inherent lack of business service available.
Whilst the West Coast is somewhat isolated many locals drive to Burnie or Hobart for shopping or a weekend away.

Hello
The West Coast of Tas is a beautiful place - have you been there in person? - it is also quite isolated, but that is part of the attraction. I am unsure of the current employment scenario there at the moment and can't give an opinion on schools I'm afraid, perhaps someone living in the area can assist further - it is about 3 hours away from my home town of Devonport. I know lots of people who do Drive in/Drive out for work.
Best of luck with the move.

Kind regards
Melissa
