Reviews of Rosewater, SA

"Transport, city & beach at your fingertips"

This is a suburb that easily is overlooked, it has everything you need at arms length for a great work / life balance. Mostly larger home blocks.

Looking for a home in Rosewater?

"A little treasure."

I've lived in Rosewater for 5 years and find it a delightful community to live in.
It's equal parts quirky and historic, and if it just had more parks and gardens it would be absolutely perfect.
We're also spoilt for choice when it comes to food (of all cultures), places to drink with friends and areas to explore.

"Tapp Street - Rosewater"

One of the quieter streets in Rosewater with a mixture of homes from old character railway cottages to single fronted homes. Parking is a little tight on this street but it is close to transport and shopping centres.

Great for

  • Close to good Asian cuisine
  • Good rental return
  • Convenient to shops, transport and not far from the CBD

Not great for

  • In some streets, it is a little rough in terms of demographic

A little rough, that is a huge understatement.

"The place to be and SA's best-kept secret!"

Rosewater is a great suburb to live in, have been here for three years now. Although the prices are on the up, it still represents terrific value for money. My wife and I both work in the city, which is under 15 minutes on the train. After work or at weekends, we hop on our bikes and head along the coast before grabbing a coffee. It's the best of both worlds! In Rosewater, everyone's friendly, and with parks and lots of space and good schools, it's also a great place to bring up a family.

Great for

  • Family friendly
  • Still a well-kept secret
  • Large blocks, beautiful buildings
  • Well situated and good transport links

"Near the city and the beach, with everything in good reach!"

Rosewater is a sleeping giant that is slowly waking up. It's on the doorstep of the Port, and is five minutes to the beach, 15 to the city - it's really well situated. Great transport links, schools and shops are available, with train on the doorstep. Peaceful Rosewater has a mixture of beautiful old buildings on large blocks and new houses and is definitely an up-and-coming suburb. We've lived here for nearly three years and would recommend it to anyone, particularly with the Port development/tram sure to boost property prices even more in the future. There's a good community spirit, too, while the suburb also seems to be very popular with investors. We live on the south side of Grand Junction Road, near to Alberton, and find it a lovely area to live in.

Great for

  • Bang for your buck
  • Well situated and good transport links
  • Large blocks, beautiful buildings

Rentals in Rosewater

"Great place for First home buyers and investors"

Rosewater is a an area that has great potential for first home buyers and investors. Property prices in the area are affordable and with great facilities like schools, shops and public transport, it makes it very attractive to families. Being close to the Port Adelaide precinct which is being developed and with its historical heritage, Rosewater is a rough gem waiting to be picked out. The homes in the area range from Colonial cottages through to your new dwellings. As for the investment side of things, rental returns in the area have been exceptional with property values increasing above the median. According to the Sunday Mail (8th November 2009) Rosewater featured in being one of the areas that has had significant price rises in the past decade.

Totally agree with the above review! We moved to Rosewater in early 2009 and love it here. The streets are really quiet, it's so close to the beach and also the city. We're near a train station, schools and shops. We're also in prime position for the Port redevelopment. With large blocks, great space and gentrification happening, t's a great place to be!

Agree with the original poster. I would recommend to anyone who wants to be near the beach and the city but still have plenty of space and a relaxed lifestyle.
