Reviews of Rothwell, QLD

"Affordable and Convenient Living"

There has been heavy investment in Rothwell over the last decade as young professional families have moved to the area.

This has included the following:
- State Government selling public housing to the private market (Cambridge Street, Rothwell)
- City Council selling land to the new development (Stockland - Promenade Rothwell)
- City Council selling land for the new petrol station and fast food outlets (7-Eleven and GYG)

Additionally, Rothwell has benefited from young professional families moving to the area for their children's education. Rothwell has high performing private schools and a brand new university campus in the suburb of Petrie.

Top-tier private schools in the area:
- Grace Lutheran College
- Mueller College

Top-tier universities in the area:
- The University of the Sunshine Coast - Petrie campus

Rothwell is 5 minutes drive to the Redcliffe peninsula which has multiple shopping centres with all the basic essentials (i.e. supermarkets, Target/Kmart, cinemas). Rothwell is also close 10 minutes drive to North Lakes for Westfield, Costco and IKEA.

Looking for a home in Rothwell?

"Great suburb for both families and retirees alike!!!"

An affordable pocket located in between Deception Bay, North Lakes and Redcliffe Peninsula. It's location is perfect as it is centrally located and easily accessible to the above areas including the Bruce Highway for those who travel either to City or Sunshine Coast. Westfield North Lakes is only 5 mins drive away. It has many great schools both public and private with numerous walking trails and parks to enjoy. Public transport is limited to only Buses however, the rail way line is due for completion in the area by 2016. Local real estate developments are continuing to expand as well as local shopping precincts. Contact me anytime if you want some further information about the area or are looking to buy or sell.

"Good Value"

Good Value compared to simular homes in Northlakes. Close to Wesfield Northlakes. Lots of bike and walking tracks along the waterfront up to D'bay and back. Good Butcher inside Farmer Pats. Nice and close to Bribie and the Sunshine Coast. Public transport will be much better when the rail is complete. Otherwise if you work in the city you have to drive to Petrie or Sandgate Railway Stations. I'm always a visitor at Bunnings Rothwell as its so close. Rothwell is still a expanding suburb with new estates still to be completed.

"A great place to make your home."

Rothwell is the western entrance to the Redcliffe Peninsula accessed from the Bruce Highway. Anzac Avenue and Deception Bay Road meet at the 'Rothwell Roundabout' which is busy during peak times. Morris Road is the only other way to access Redcliffe from the west and it runs parallel to Anzac Avenue. Houses on Morris Road have constant traffic especially during peak times. There is a cluster of housing commission homes near this roundabout between Anzac Avenue and Morris Road which a previous reviewer referred to.

However, Rothwell is ideally situated to reach shopping centres such as Westfield North Lakes just 3km away. In Rothwell there is a Bunnings, IGA, Farmer Pat's, WOW Sight n' Sound, Freedom, Autobarn, Genesis Gym, bakery, butchers, newsagents... lots more. Living in Rothwell is beautiful. You are never too far from amenities such as schools, hospitals or entertainment. The Redcliffe waterfront is only a 15 minute drive away, the Brisbane airport is only 20 minutes up the Gateway Arterial or to catch some waves up the Sunshine Coast is only 40 minutes.

I spent my teenage years in Redcliffe and then moved back to the Rothwell area 7 years ago after travelling for 10 years. It is a lovely area. I feel safe. I don't choose busy roads to live on. The people are friendly. It is a great place to make your home. I would definitely recommend living in Rothwell or anywhere in Redcliffe.

I Have travelled and moved around a lot/lived in many different Towns/Cities in NZ and Australia and Rothwell is by far the best place I have lived so far, lovely beaches at Scarborough/Redcliffe/Deception Bay, great shopping, excellent facilities e.g. Doctors, Pathology, Bunnings, Shopping Centres etc, no rail yet, but getting it built and also get state of the art Railway Station here, looks great, have seen the artists impressions in the local paper. Nice people, nice parks, nice area, kept clean and tidy. ( odd hoons around, but you get them everywhere no matter where you live) good roads, Hospital nearby, North Lakes expanding to become the shopping hub for Moreton Bay, what more could you ask for, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to live here. Rents and house prices are very affordable, a big plus in this day and age.

Which round about you are referring to reg the public housing. The roundabout around the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's witness or the one around the Mueller college .
Thanks

The 'Rothwell Roundabout' was replaced by the major traffic lights at the intersection of Anzac Avenue and Deception Bay Road. The housing commission have progressively been sold to developers in order to build the new petrol station and surrounding fast food (i.e. GYG, Starbucks).
