I am looking to move to peninsula area - saw Rothwell is reasonably priced but is it an safe suburb
I was wondering if Rothwell is an good suburb for families professional couples etc or are there hoons drugs rough people around and are suburbs like Redcliff Scarborough or Newport better for young family

Rothwell is a good suburb for professional young families because of its close proximity to two strong performing private schools in the area (Mueller College, Grace Lutheran College). The public housing in the neighbourhood has progressively been sold to the private market, so there has been a noticeable shift in demographics. The rough people can no longer afford this suburb.
Redcliffe/Scarborough -Typically more expensive than Rothwell due to proximity to the water. However, it is further away from the private schools.
Newport - Same as Redcliffe/Scarborough. There is a new Stockland development that is more expensive than the existing housing. The land sizes are noticeably smaller.
