Rowell Street, North Ryde, NSW 2113

Rowell Street runs from Farrington Parade to Edmonson Street and contains homes built in the post-WW2 era as part of the resettlement program for returned servicemen. Unusually for the area, not many of these homes have been demolished to make way for the grander homes preferred today, though many have been improved from their fibro and tile origins. The mature trees in the street soften the streetscape, but ugly power poles and overhead wires detract.
