Reviews of Ruse, NSW

"Great community suburb"

Ruse is a great little suburb located within Campbelltown Council. My partner and I purchased here last year and we absolutely love it. It is a very family friendly suburb, great neighbourhood with lots of young couples, families and pets. Located within 10 minutes of Campbelltown centre with great restaurants, shopping centres and other amenities. Conveniently situated close to all public transport and small shopping markets, very close to the M5 motorway. Lots of greenery and parklands. Highly recommend this suburb to anyone looking to move, also still affordable to purchase given the current Sydney market.

Rentals in Ruse

"City Mouse Country Mouse Have the best of both worlds"

Ruse is ideally situated on the fringe of Sydney, I've lived in the city for many years now for the past 8 or so years have lived in Ruse. Its a wonderful and friendly community. There are plenty of choices for gyms, bushwalks, and loads of shopping malls (if thats your thing). Ruse Shops have now been renewed and a new service station has also moved in refurginsing the old one. There's a local IGA.

Its about 35-45 mins to wollongong and tourist attractoions like Berry, Mittagong, Bowral, Fitzroy falls Moss Vale are a lovely day trip. So if tourist towns, antique shops and boutique coffee shops it will take probalby an hour or so. Can't remember. The city is only about 50km away.

Ruse is a well kept secret and its a wonder you don't pay inner city prices for houses here.

There's Centric a new district near the Private hospital which has a good variety of restaurants as well as Kellicar Lane. If you want to go further afield there is Camden with plenty of restaurants.

Not much night life for bands though, only fairly mainstream acts at the RSL & Cube (catholic club venue). There's the Rydges hotel so its quite upmarket for a drink with a built in Boutique brewery.

A small cafe does jazz afternoons and the Campbelltown art Gallery is very modern and has openings, modern art exhibitions and this week there's a high tea with a pianist concert.

There are plenty of kids activities and both primary school and neighbouring suburb Leumeah High school.

Great for

  • Friendly commuinty based
  • Plenty of places to eat
  • Ideally situated to city and bush/country lifestyle.

Not great for

  • Peak Hour M5 Motorway to City

We bought our house in Ruse 6 years ago, all my boys attended the local primary school from kindy to year 6 "fantastic school" just the right amount of students where all the teachers know all the children. The community of Ruse is great we have never had any problems. Its green and leafy and for the most part all backs onto bushland. I love my street know all my neighbours, super friendly. Very comfortable family friendly place to live love it..........
