Far East Organization Breaking Ground on Master Planned
Residential Community in Melbourne
St Helena Woods to redefine contemporary living with nature-inspired design and lifestyle facilities

Melbourne, Australia 22 April 2015 Far East Organization, Singapores largest private property developer, today announces it is commencing construction on St Helena Woods, a new master planned residential community located in Melbournes desirable north-eastern suburbs. The project will be developed over the next four years and will set a benchmark for Far East Organizations entry into the Australian residential market.
Inspired by nature, the project will display the best in urban and landscape design, featuring a wide range of modern, architect-designed homes set in a natural and established parkland environment. Twenty-five percent of the projects 19 hectares will be developed as parkland and dedicated to preserving existing flora and fauna habitat.
The St Helena Woods community will feature about 250 dwellings and offer buyers a range of housing options, with over twelve house designs and a variety of interior and external colour schemes. A Sales Gallery and Display Village is planned which will showcase the range of housing types and quality finishes to prospective purchasers. The project will also feature a recreational club facility for residents a unique feature among communities of similar size in the local area. Resident facilities will include a gym, multi-purpose tennis court and a swimming pool.
The Executive Director of Far East Organization, Mr Augustine Tan, says the thoughtful design, innovative planning and resident amenity are a response to the needs of the local market.
St Helena Woods will offer a variety of housing options that appeal to different groups of homebuyers from singles and young couples who are seeking their first home, to families planning to upscale to a larger, modern home and empty nesters downsizing as their family nucleus changes. The community has been designed to maintain the integrity and beauty of the existing natural landscape and is connected to established education, shopping, entertainment, recreational and transport amenities. Its exciting to be involved with such a development that will nurture a sense of integrated living and market-leading design offering residents new choices in layout and functionality, says Tan.

In keeping with Far East Organizations vision for the project, the master planned community has been designed by leading Australian architect DKO Architecture and Tract Landscape Architects.
The St Helena Woods site is characterised by several distinct precincts, each with its own features including an existing creek bed, valley, rolling hills and elevated views. In response to these unique characteristics, the master plan and house designs have been guided by the Australian landscape setting to promote a variety of interfaces with open space, parkland and the wider St Helena neighbourhood. The beautiful views and established trees over the site have been carefully integrated into the design to create a sensitive and high quality, integrated housing residential community, says Mr Koos de Keijzer of DKO Architecture.
Working with our Australian partners, we want to continue setting the bar for quality and ingenuity in our local residential developments and create innovative spaces that put homeowners at the centre and showcase our philosophy of Inspiring Better Lives, says Tan.
Far East Organization has made investments of about AUD$1.3 billion dollars to date in Australia, including joint ventures with their listed hospitality entity. Some of Far East Organizations recent acquisitions include Clocktower Square and Ausgrid Building in Sydney, and Watertown Brand Outlet Centre in Perth.
