"Ovoid living in Sanctuary Cove"

We purchased a home in Sanctuary Cove in approximately 2014. It has been a living nightmare ever since we moved in to say the least. The body corporate expect to be paid their excessive fees, while show no consideration or respect to residence, while they harass you about even the smallest things. Many residence tend to me most unfriendly at times.

I am interested why it is such a nightmare? As looking at purchasing a property there.

"Wonderful community in a private gated estate."

Sanctuary Cove is a gated estate, so security and privacy are assured. Although Sanctuary Cove Resort is known throughout Australia, the residential section is actually not very well known...as in not many people who live on the coast have actually been into the residential section because unless you visit a friend or arrange a property inspection you can't get in. Most are surprised when they get behind the gates...the houses and streets are beautifully manicured, paved roads, landscaped gardens and nature strips, it is a large estate, there are lots of parks, a boat ramp, residents pontoon, childrens park, BBQ facilities all within the secure areas. There are 24 hour security patrols so you always feel safe and secure. All houses have back to base security, fire alarms and panic alarms. Security can be at your house within 3 minutes in an emergency. I love that my kids can safely ride their bikes to the park...the speed limit is only 40kms per hour so again, really safe. Most residents own a golf buggy so you can get down to the local Shopping Village or Hope Island Shopping village to go to Coles, or one of the many restaurants, cafes, boutiques, homewares shops, specialty shops etc. The Estate is built around 2 x 18 hole Golf Courses and a gorgeous marina and 2 other harbours. Many houses are on the water, but there are also many more affordable houses in park like settings. Many of the original houses are on huge blocks from half and acre to 1 acre in size...some of these houses have been extended and are quite magnificent mansions. There are now also some smaller land releases too. There are some townhouses and units for downsizes too.
Most residents are families or middle aged couples. Although once you come here you will never want to leave. There are many little things that are so nice...like your bins get emptied twice a week...you don't put your bin out, they come and collect it and even place a new bin liner in for you. There are regular events in the Village. Some great for kids, like the Easter activities or the regular Mummy tree markets, to the Winter Wine Festival or the International Boat Show. The residents also do fun things like decorate their golf buggies at Halloween. There is also a Country Club with gym, classes etc. Residents also have access to the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove which has a magnificent beach pool and a few restaurants.
All the main private schools such a TSS, Coomera Anglican College, AB Paterson, St Stephens have a school bus to and from Sanctuary Cove Village. From Sanctuary Cove you can be on the M1 in about 10 minutes, to Surfers in about 25 minutes. Highly recommend Sanctuary Cove...we hesitated for 10 years to moving here...and yet from the moment we arrived we have not regretted it for an instant. We love it!
