Up in the foothills of the Dandenong range Wandin east is well out of the city but still within a reasonable commute if you work in Melbourne. Its not an outrageous drive but it could get frustrating for some.
This is a beautiful area and a great place to raise a family. There are some good shops around close by and plenty of nice little places to eat without having to go too far.
Quiet and peaceful, it would suit families and retirees but not those that want to party in the city all the time.
With plenty of greenery and a good chance you’ll see the local wildlife, this is a great place to relax.

Wandin is well and truly out of the city so if you work in the city this is definitely not for you unless you like a long commute. However, it is a lovely place. Tree lined streets and shops close by as well as a few reasonable restaurants.

I visited here for a wedding and it was a great place to stay and visit. If you wanted to be part of a big city but not feel like you are in a big city then this is a great place to be.

It's a good suburb for kids and retirees alike.
