"Great town with nice people"

I have loved it here. There is a lot of open space, peace and quiet, friendly people, cafes and nice bakery. There is new investment in the area which is great- more jobs!

Hi there, I am looking at moving to stawell or ararat just wondering if you find it a friendly town? Are most areas of the town good to look at for buying a house?
Thankyou!

riyats

Stawell is the best and cheap to live, houses are very cheap and its the right time to buy a property, because it will go up so much in 12 months. So move in now!

"A reasonably major centre close to the Grampians"

Stawell is a nice country town. Famous for the Stawell gift which brings a lot of people into town it is a great place to stop. It has a wonderful friendly feel to it making it appealing to consider a change.
As it is a reasonably major centre there are a number of good shops to get what you need and a few good places to eat out as well as a Subway.
Its close to the Grampians if you fancy a walk or hike.
Some of the older building are simply stunning and a real highlight is the miniature tourist park. A great one for the visitors and making yourself feel like a giant travelling the world.
There is a good blend of houses around Stawell so you could easily find what you’re looking for.
Stawell has a number of good schools which service the lcoals areas so its a good area for kids.

"Home of the Stawell Gift"

Before visiting Stawell, I'd only heard of it because it was home to the famous Stawell Gift. But it's quite a pleasant place to visit. It acts as a service centre to the Grampians and also has a number of nice places to eat. If you appreciate historic buildings, you won't be disappointed with the railway station, the town hall and several historic churches. There's also a miniature tourist park which has scaled down models of landmarks from around the world. Stawell is a great place to stay if you want to explore the Grampians.
